Something I have personally noticed is the increase of student activists. Now more than ever people are getting involved in helping shape progress for their community. There is something about the feeling that 'I made a difference' that cannot be compared to anything else.
Jesus, a student at Georgia State University, is very active in making a difference for his community. He says, "Atlanta is a hub for political activism of the South." He goes on to say "It is easy to find a group that is working on an issue that will suit your fancy."
Currently, Jesus is working on forming a labor union at GSU and in the midst of planning a demonstration to catch the attention of administrators.
There is a fresh outlook on bettering the community. Especially with things like the U.S. Census on people's minds and igniting people's desire to help shape their community. During his campaign, President Barack Obama presented us with an idea of 'hope' to be restored in today's world.
Are you a political activist and why? If not, is there an issue you are passionate about and would consider fighting for?
